Disclosure. AllCreditBuilderTools is an independent directory. Some links are affiliate links — we may earn a commission if you apply. That does not change rankings. The operator also works at Kikoff; Kikoff is not automatically ranked first. Rankings are by cost, bureaus, product type, and who the product is for. Fees, APRs, and bureau lists change. Confirm on the issuer’s site before you apply. This is education, not personal advice, and not a promise that your score will go up.Verdict Kikoff Credit Account is one of the cheapest ways to add a revolving tradeline with no hard pull and no interest. Basic at $5/month for a $750 store line is the version most people should buy. You cannot swipe it at a grocery store. Rent reporting is Equifax, not three bureaus. Premium/Ultimate are easy to upsell; extras are not the reason to join. The operator of this site also works at Kikoff — read the table anyway. What Kikoff is
Kikoff sells a revolving line of credit you can spend in the Kikoff Store (low-cost education/digital goods). The account reports like a credit card tradeline: limit, balance, payment history. There is no interest. There is a monthly membership. If you pay late, Kikoff can report it and can freeze or close the line (180 days unpaid is the usual cliff in 2026 writeups).
That is not a Visa. It is not Self. It is not credit repair.
Plans (confirm on kikoff.com)
Plan · Monthly · Reported line · What you’re actually buyingBasic · $5 · $750 · Revolving tradeline, monitoring tools, Equifax rent reportingPremium · ~$20 (Kikoff pages) / $25 (some Feb 2026 reviews) · $2,500 · Bigger limit, bill reporting, secured-card eligibility, extrasUltimate · $35 · $3,500 · Premium plus ID/data extras
NerdWallet’s February 2026 table listed Premium at $25; Kikoff’s own comparison pages have used $20. This is why every review on this site says “confirm.” Do not take our grid into an argument with a billing email.
How to use it so utilization helps
NerdWallet’s advice still holds: on Basic, buy something cheap in the store (~$10) and pay it down. A small balance on a $750 limit is low utilization. You do not need to max the store. You do not need Premium to “look bigger” unless you have a specific reason.
Add-ons, without the brochure
- Rent reporting — included. Equifax. Lease + bank link. ~$50 to back-report 24 months. If you need Experian and TransUnion, use Self’s free rent product or Boom. If you already pay Kikoff, turn this on anyway.- Bill reporting — higher plans, typically TransUnion for phone/utility. Not a reason to jump to $35 by itself. Experian Boost is free for Experian.- Secured card — higher plans, ~$50 minimum deposit, no typical hard pull, reports to all three. For people who want to swipe outside the store. Compare to Chime ($0, requires Chime bank) and Capital One Platinum Secured (hard pull, real issuer).- Credit builder loan — optional installment add-on. If installment is the main goal, Self is the cleaner loan. If you already live in Kikoff and want mix, the add-on is the shortcut.- Debt negotiation / ID extras — Ultimate bait. Settling debts can hurt scores. Do not buy Ultimate to “AI negotiate” a collection you haven’t verified on AnnualCreditReport.com.
Who it is for
- Thin file, $5/month, will not miss it.- Declined for Capital One / Discover, or you refuse a hard pull this month.- You want revolving mix next to an installment loan you already have.
Who should skip it
- You bank at Chime and will use Credit Builder — that’s $0.- You can open Capital One Platinum Secured and pay in full — spend-anywhere card with a graduation path.- You thought this was a cash loan. It is not. Store only, no disbursement.- You will forget the $5. Then this product is a late-pay machine.
Kikoff vs Chime vs Self
Chime wins on price if you will switch checking. Self wins if the job is installment + savings. Kikoff wins if you want a paid revolving tradeline with no bank switch and no deposit. Full matrix: Kikoff vs Self and the apps guide.
FAQDoes Kikoff help utilization? It can, because the reported limit is large vs typical store spend. That is a thin-file trick, not magic. It will not offset maxed-out actual credit cards. Is there interest? No interest on the Credit Account. The membership is the cost. Missed payments still damage the file.Did Kikoff retire the secured card? Some 2026 blogs said the standalone card was retired and folded into higher plans. NerdWallet still described a secured card add-on for Premium/Ultimate in February 2026. Look at the live plan comparison. Do not assume a card ships on Basic.
